The first European country to print paper money (1661), might now be the first to do away with it completely.
Stockholm, one of Europe’s best known centers for innovation and technology, is on the fast track to becoming wholly cash-free, with banks, buses, homeless street vendors and even churches expecting plastic or virtual payment.
At the heart of this progression is an instant money transfer app called Swish, a joint collaboration between the six major banks in Sweden.
